F. & A. M. The committee appointed by said lodge to draft resolutions with respect to the memory of our brother, D. T. Yates, would respectfully submit the following report: Whereas, on the 29th day of July, 1909, it pleased the all-wise Master to call from the labors of this world; our beloved brother, D. T. Yates, who for many years had been a true, faithful and beloved member of our lodge; therefore be it Resolved by the Fairfield Lodge No. 103, A. F. & A. M., that in the death of Brother Yates, this lodge has lost one of its oldest and most faithful landmarks and exponents of Free Masonry, who will long be remembered by us for his many noble qualities of heart and mind. Brother Yates was a good and kindly man, whose upright life has left an influence for good upon all who knew him. He was a true and devoted husband, and an affectionate father, devoted to the welfare of his family and was mindful of his duty to neighbors and friends. Brother Yates was born in the State of Georgia on Jan. 25, 1834, and moved with his parents to Texas, at the age of 4 years, settling in Nacogdoches county. He was there made a Master Mason at the age of twenty-one. He later moved to Kaufman county, and thence to Freestone, in 1874, settling near Fairfield, where he resided until his death, which occurred at Mountain View, Okla., while visiting his son at that place. Resolved further, that a copy of these resolutions be spread upon the minutes of this lodge, and that a copy be furnished the family of our deceased brother, and a copy be furnished the Fairfield Recorder with a request for publication.
