Bonnie R. (Abbott) Zaretki

Mrs. Bonnie R. Zaretki, 55, of Teague, died Saturday at Hillcrest Baptist Medical
Center in Waco after a long battle with cancer.

Born June 4, 1952 in Kalamazoo, Mich., Mrs. Zaretki was the oldest of four 
children born to Davis and May Abbott. She and her husband, Carl, moved to 
Colleyville, Texas in 1982 and then relocated to rural Teague in 1993 after 
her husband’s retirement.

Prior to the onset of her illness, Mrs. Zaretki was active in several area 
quilting groups and served as Queen of the Peaches of Freestone County Red Hat 
Society in Fairfield. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening, and spending
time with her family and friends.

Mrs. Zaretki is survived by her husband Carl of Teague, daughter Teresa 
Lewandowski of Lake Orion, Mich., her mother and her husband May and Jim 
Preussel of Harlingen, father Davis Abbott, sister Laurie Hoover of Columbus,
Ind., and brothers Terry Abbott of Columbus, Ind., and Joe Abbott of 
Indianapolis, Ind.

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the
American Cancer Society.

BONNIE R. ZARETKI


Mrs. Bonnie R. Zaretki of Teague, Texas, passed away at Hillcrest Baptist 
Medical Center in Waco on Saturday, November 24, 2007, after a long battle 
with cancer.

Mrs. Zaretki was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on June 4, 1952, the oldest of 
four children born to Davis and May Abbott. She and her husband Carl moved to 
Colleyville, Texas in 1982 and then relocated to rural Teague in 1993 after 
Carl’s retirement.

Prior to the onset of her illness, Mrs. Zaretki was active in several local 
quilting groups and served as Queen of the Peaches of Freestone County Red Hat
Society in Fairfield. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening and spending time
with her friends and family.

Mrs. Zaretki is survived by her husband Carl of Teague, her daughter Teresa 
Lewandowski of Lake Orion, Michigan, her mother and her husband May and Jim 
Preussel of Harlingen, Texas, her father Davis Abbott, her sister Laurie Hoover
of Columbus, Indiana and her brothers Terry Abbott of Columbus, Indiana and 
Joe Abbott of Indianapolis, Indiana.
