Freestone Co., TX.  
At age 15 served as courier in the CSA Arkansas Cavalry.  When discharged,
walked alone from Bradley County, Arkansas.  After long search, found his
family in Freestone County, Texas in 1865.

Wife, Eugenia Caroline Childs b. 27 Mar 1848 d 20 Jan 1902 Freestone Co., TX.
One of the first females in the Childs family to become a college graduate.
