He was a farmer most of his life. His family was all musical. He played the fiddle, his sons played the guitar and daughters played the pump organ. I remember that they had get to gathers at the local school and everyone played. When they played at the house you had to dance in the yard because my grandmother was a strict Baptist so no dancing. He was the husband of Bertie Martin Yielding the father of Lee, Sybil, Leonard, Weldon, Imogene, Milburn, Juanita, Billie Marie& Herman Additional Comments: Among oldest in county. Founded Dec. 3, 1853, by the Lee families, Elders Thomas Dossey and C. T. Echols certifying to constitution of church. Elder Dossey named it. Five-acre site given by W. H. McSwane family. First building of logs was replaced later by frame structure.
