Freestone County, Texas Reflections [SPECIAL THANKS to Linda Mullen for transcribing and Margaret Tolar for locating.] Diary of Mrs. Frances “Fannie or Frankie” (Noland) Anderson (Fannie was born in 1850. She married Judge Asa Green Anderson on May 14, 1868 in Freestone County. ) Freestone—Past & Present By J.R. “Sonny” Sessions Mrs. Anderson’s Ledger #8 “OH YES” The last session of our literary school that I attended didn’t graduate though I was chosen for their Queen of May. On the morning of the first day of May we met at the Masonic Hall, we formed in lines of two an two, then marched to a lake just out of the town limits. The boy’s had put up a May Pole until we tired out. Then our Mother’s spread a bountiful lunch under some large Oaks, then we had a feast. We girls did not go paddling in the water though at other times we did.
