December 5, 2009 Seasons Greetings Family and Friends, I hope that everything goes well with you in every respect, and that you will have a good Christmas and a happy and prosperous new year. 2009 has been a good year for me. Even though I am ninety years of age, for which I am grateful, I have enjoyed reasonable good health. I remain at home and care for myself with assistance from a health care staff. I spent a large portion of my time with The A. M. Hunter Titus Charitable Cultural Center, Inc., which is beginning to make a positive impact upon the life of the community. It has received its 501 (c) (3) classification from the IRS and is a member of the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce. I continued my writing projects: See How For We Have Come, (a history of our family) a book of recipes, a book of quotations, and The Center Newsletter. I am in the process of editing an interview of me concerning the Titus Farm/ Brown’s Creek Community done by a team of archaeological consultants of the Post, Buckley, Shue, and Jorgenson Engineering Firm of Austin. Texas. This interview was commissioned by the Big Bron Mining Company and will be used as a part of its oral history of Texas. Much of my writings can be seen on the internet by going to Google and entering Wilbur Thirkield Titus. Also go to Freestone County Archives and click on Reflections, Histories, Ghost Towns, Family Reunions, and Cemeteries. I am still a member of numerous organizations and support numerous causes. I am the historian of Jones Chapel United Church. I also serve as the vice president of the Rhode Island Cemetery Association. My plans for 2010 include completing the projects that I have begun and to write a column entitled "From My Wheel Chair." You are important to me. Sincerely, Wilbur Thirkield (Bill) Titus
