Freestone County, Texas Bios Texas Senate Resolution #76 1-1 1 1-2 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 76 1-3 In Memory 1-4 of 1-5 Reverend Dr. Forest L. Livingston 1-6 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens 1-7 of Dallas in mourning the loss of Reverend Dr. Forest L. Livingston, 1-8 who died January 15, 1999, at the age of 79; and 1-9 WHEREAS, Born July 13, 1919, in Freestone County, 1-10 Forest Livingston became pastor of Greater Saint John Primitive 1-11 Baptist Church in 1940 and remained its pastor until his death; 1-12 and 1-13 WHEREAS, Over the years, Elder Livingston ministered 1-14 faithfully to the spiritual needs of innumerable Christians; 1-15 under his leadership, the church provided enlightenment, hope, 1-16 and support to the citizens of South Dallas; and 1-17 WHEREAS, Elder Livingston assisted with the needs of the 1-18 community through his involvement with the Dallas Ministerial 1-19 Alliance and other Dallas-based organizations; and 1-20 WHEREAS, A man of spiritual depth and devotion, 1-21 Elder Livingston performed countless ceremonies and prayed for 1-22 and counselled his church members during their hardships and in 1-23 times of bereavement; and 1-24 WHEREAS, An exemplary and distinguished gentleman, 2-1 Elder Livingston was respected for his many accomplishments 2-2 and his leadership in the community; and 2-3 WHEREAS, A man of integrity, strength, and generosity, he 2-4 gave unselfishly of his time to others, and his wisdom, warmth, 2-5 and valued counsel will not be forgotten by those who knew him; and 2-6 WHEREAS, Elder Livingston was a devoted husband, father, and 2-7 grandfather, and he leaves behind memories that will be treasured 2-8 forever by his family and many friends; now, therefore, be it 2-9 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-10 76th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved 2-11 family of Reverend Dr. Forest L.
