Freestone County, Texas Bios Texas Senate Resolution #241 By: Turner S.R. No. 241 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 In Memory 1-3 of 1-4 B. L. Seely, Jr. 1-5 WHEREAS, The citizens of Teague, Texas, mourned the death 1-6 of civic leader B. L. Seely, Jr., who died December 13, 1994; and 1-7 WHEREAS, He was born on July 19, 1911, in the Freestone 1-8 Community; and 1-9 WHEREAS, Devoted to the interests both present and future of 1-10 his community, he gave selflessly of his time and energies to the 1-11 needs of the people in his town; and 1-12 WHEREAS, A man of deep religious feelings and convictions, 1-13 he was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Teague and a 1-14 longtime member of the Mustard Seed Sunday School Class; and 1-15 WHEREAS, One who enjoyed the company of his fellows, he was 1-16 a 32nd degree Mason in both the Scottish and York Rite, and he 1-17 was a member of the Boggy Lodge 739; and 1-18 WHEREAS, Active in civic affairs, Mr. Seely was on the board 1-19 of the BRI Railroad Museum in Teague and had served on the school 1-20 board in Teague for 12 years; and 1-21 WHEREAS, Mr. Seely was a man of great ability and unimpeachable 1-22 integrity, and his wise counsel and good judgment will be sorely 1-23 missed and gratefully remembered by those whose lives he touched; 2-1 now, therefore, be it 2-2 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-3 74th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the family 2-4 of B. L. Seely, Jr.: his son, Barney L. Seely; his daughter, 2-5 Lucy Henson; his sisters, Ucola Wilson and Nadine Rife; and his 2-6 six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and, be it further 2-7 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for his 2-8 family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate, 2-9 and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of 2-10 B. L.
