Freestone County, Texas Reunions [This appeared in the Freestone "Times" on May 2, 2006, page 3-B] Rhode Island Memorial The public is invited to attend the memorial celebration of the Rhode Island Cemetery Association on May 13, 2006 at 12 noon, in the Rhode Island Methodist Church, 161 County Road, Stewarts Mill community, Fairfield, Texas. The purposes of the memorial is to honor the memories of the relatives and friends who are buried there and to serve as a fund raiser in support of the cemetery. It is believed that improving the cemetery will improve the community. In order to accomplish these goals, every adults is asked to pay at least $35.00 per year. Persons who wish to contribute and cannot attend the memorial are asked to send their donation, made payable to the Rhode Island Cemetery Fund, to Miss Glenda F. Coleman, [address removed]. An afternoon of pleasure has been planned. There will be a program, business meeting, special entertainment and a picnic. There will be door prizes, and a "Grandmother's Darlings" contest. (The grandmother who has the most grandchildren under the age of twenty one at the memorial will win a basket of groceries.)
