Freestone County, Texas Social Organizations Heroines of Jericho (1907-current) Dorothy Court #106 located in Birdston Valley African American organization - female counterpart (Order of the Eastern Star) to the Birdston Valley Lodge #266 (Prince Hall masons). Established in 1907, the Heroines of Jericho still meets in the old two story lodge structure in Birdston Valley in Navarro County. They continue to meet in the present day on the first Saturday of each month. Birdston Valley, a community of former slaves, is located in Navarro County two miles north of the white community of Birdston.
