Couple wed
for 62 years

A Fairfield couple celebrates 62 years of marriage this week. Cullen and Ellen 
Gunter were married June 24, 1944 in Fairfield, and have remained in Fairfield 
since that date.

Both now retired, Gunter drove a gravel truck, and Mrs. Gunter worked at area 
restaurants, Fairfield hospital and in Fairfield school cafeterias. They 
currently enjoy gardening and being outdoors, and they attend New Life Assembly 
of God Church.

The couple have two children, Don Gunter and Mary Ellen Golden, both of 
Fairfield, two grandchildren, James Gunter of Houston and Kristi Chick of 
Palestine, and one great-grandchild, Sierra Schick, 9, of Palestine.
