Freestone County, Texas Engagement Fairfield Recorder newspaper Thursday March 23, 2006 edition Couple announce engagement Don and Kathy Sims of Waller, James and Diana Lewis of Fairfield and Steve and Janet Stone of Groesbeck announce the upcoming marriage of their children, Melanie Renee' Sims and Kyle Reed Stone. Kyle is a 2002 graduate of Fairfield high school and is the assistant manager of McCoy's in Bryan. He is the grandson of Louise Reed and the late W. C. "Cy" Reed of Mexia and Billy Kyle and Alta Stone of Groesbeck. Melanie is a 2001 graduate of Waller high school, a 2005 graduate of Healing Handz Massage Academy and is currently employed by Aggieland Credit Union in College Station. She is the granddaughter of Wayne and Ida Moore of Waller. The couple will be married on June 24, 2006 at the Greenbranch in Bryan at 6:30 p. m. with Jeff Marsh officiating. Couple weds in Bryan ceremony Melanie Renee' Sims became the bride of Kyle Reed Stone in an outdoor ceremony held June 24 at The Greenbranch in Bryan. Officiating at the ceremony, which was held under a gazebo overlooking a lake, was Rev. Jeff Marsh. The bride is the daughter of Don and Kathy Sims of Waller. She is the granddaughter of Wayne and Ida Moore of Waller and the great-granddaughter of the late Elmo Hurry and Agnes Hurry of Waller and Stella Guillory of Tomball. The groom is the son of J.B. and Diana Lewis of Fairfield and Steve and Janet Stone of Groesbeck. He is the grandson of B.K. and Alta Stone of Groesbeck and the late W.C. "Cy" Reed and Louise Reed of Mexia. He is the great-grandson of Lorene Beaver of Groesbeck. Escorted by her father, the bride wore a white strapless gown by Alfred Angelo adorned with sequins and pearls, with a glistening white cord veil passed down from her sister, Kristine Dygert, who served as matron of honor. She carried a bouquet of white gerbera daisies tied with white and silver satin ribbon. Serving as maid of honor was her sister, Leslie Sims. Bridesmaids included Holly Russ, Kaci Kline and Lindsay Milstead, friends of the bride, and Hayley Moore, cousin of the bride. The bridesmaids wore seafoam green halter dresses by Alfred Angelo and carried white gerbera daisies. Flower girl was the groom's niece, Haley Stone, wearing a white satin dress. The groom's brother, Cody Stone, served as best man. Groomsmen included Tim Stauffer, Jordan Huff, Justin Broussard and James Compton, friends of the groom , and Blake Moore, cousin of the bride. Ringbearers were Brady and Caylon Dygert, nephews of the bride. Guests were ushered by Monte Adams. Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the glassed-in pavilion of The Greenbranch. The candlelit affair was decorated in the couple's chosen colors of seafoam green and silver. A buffet-style barbecue dinner was served. The bride's cake was a 6-tier raspberry Italian Creme cake, and the groom's was a 3-tiered Mexican cinnamon chocolate cake with a drummer's theme. Guests danced to music provided by a DJ. The evening before the wedding, the groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner on the patio of The Greenbranch with a western-style theme. The groom is assistant store manager of McCoy's Building Supply Center in Bryan, and the bride is employed at Aggieland Credit Union in College Station. Following a week-long wedding trip to Montego Bay, Jamaica, the couple have made their home in College Station.
