Lakeland, Fla. - 
Mrs. Ruth Lucille Garland, 77, of 135 West Belmar, died
Monday at Memorial Hospital of Galveston County in
Texas City.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Gentry-Morris
Funeral Home in Lakeland, Fla. Burial will follow in Lakeland.
Mrs. Garland was born Sept 5, 1901 in Lanette, Ala.
A housewife, she was a former Galveston Bay area
resident and was a member of the Methodist Church and
the Newcomers Club of Lakeland.
Survivors include a son, Benjamin J. Garland of Dickinson;
three brothers, Cal Swan of Vero Beach, Fla., Ray Swan
of Lanette, Ala., and Gay Swan of Lanette; two sisters,
Mrs. Frances Appelby of Columbus, Mo., and Ethel
Phillips of Stone Mountain, Ga.; and three grandchildren.
