Y., and died at Galveston, Texas, January 14, 1920, aged 83 years, 6 months and 14 days. He came to Kansas in the fall of 1857 and was married to Louisa Elizabeth Myrick in 1861. Seven children were born to this union. Five of whom, reached maturity: W. E. Maxson of Galveston, Texas; Frank L. Maxson of Toronto, Kan.; Mrs. C. C. Chambers of Purcell, Okla.; Ralph L. Maxson of Beaumont, Texas and Mrs. Arthur B. Estep of Beaumont, Texas. Doctor Maxson saw four years of service during the Civil War in the 9th Kansas Cavalry. During a part of this time he was in hospital service. He was a Mason, a graduate of Ohio Medical College of Cincinnatti, Ohio, a member of the American Medical Association, and a practicing physician and surgeon for fifty years. He left Toronto in 1914 to make his home with his daughter, Mrs. C. C. Chambers in Purcell, Okla. Later, he moved to Galveston, Texas, where he died at the home of his son, W. E. Maxson. The remains were brought to Toronto for burial, accompanied by all his children except F. L. Maxson who is a resident of Toronto. The funeral service was held in the Methodist Church of which he had been a member for many years, and the address was delivered by Judge G. H. Lamb of Yates Center, Kan. The burial took place in the East-side cemetery beside the grave of his wife who died in 1901. Besides those mentioned above and coming from a distance to attend the funeral were two brothers in law, J. R. Myrick of Ft. Scott, N. J. Myrick of Mapleton; Mrs. J. E.
