Gillespie County, Texas The South Grape Creek Cemetery is owned by the Archdiocese of San Antonio and is in the jurisdiction of the St Francis Xavier Catholic Parish in Stonewall, Texas. This land was donated to them by Anton and Catharina Novian. Permission was granted by the President of the Stonewall Heritage Society to publish this on the Gillespie County Web site. Marvin C. They were married on May 26 1850 in Gillespie County. They had 6 children, Catharine, 1852; Maria, 1854-1861; Elizabeth, 1856; Barbara, 1858; Franciska, 1860 and John, 1862-1884. John Blank, William Feller and Mr. Kirchner were hung by the Haengerbande led by J. P. Waldrip. Peter Burg was shot in the back by the same gang. Catherine then married Anton Novian on August 21, 1865. They had 5 children; Peter, 1866; Valentine, 1869; Mary, 1873; August, 1876 and Joseph, 1878. The tree that is shown in the picture at the top is the same tree that Blank and the other two men were hung in.
