Cpl Duecker entered the United States Army on December 9, 1952 in San Antonio. He served with Btry A, 692 FA Bn, and was discharged on December 9, 1954 , in Fort Sill, OK. While in the Army, Duecker received the United Nation Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, Republic of Korea President Unit Citation and the National Defense Service Medal. Duecker was born March 5, 1932, the son of the late Herman Duecker and Lillie Oehler Duecker. He died June 5, 1990, and is buried in St. Mary's Cemetery. Survivors include his children. She was born in Mason on January 29, 1912 the daughter of Albert Christian Loeffler and Emma Schmidt Loeffler. She married Walter Seth Durst on July 11, 1935 in Mason and he preceded her in death on October 4, 1977. (07/19/2000) *Durst, Werner A., *the casket flag of Werner A. Durst will be flown during the month of April at the Veterans Memorial on the Gillespie County Courthouse lawn. Durst was a Machinist Mate 3rd Class in the U. S. Navy with the NAS Kingsville, the USS Bennington and the NAS Corpus Chrisit. He was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Area Ribbon and the World War Victory Medal. Durst entered the service on May 29, 1944 in Corpus Christit and was later discharged on January 8, 1946 from Camp Wallace. He was born October 4, 1920, the son of the late Emil Durst and Constance Langehennig Durst. Durst died on April 11, 1984 and is buried in the Greenwood Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Simon Durst McCune of Fredericksburg; a son Gary, also of Frederickburg; and a daughter Gwen Faster, of Llano. (03/29/2000)
