Anderson of La Porte, TX on Sunday, August 19, 2001. It was documented utilizing as a primary source, a video camera with digital still imagery, complimented with a 35mm camera. The cemetery is located on the North side of Highway 59, approximately 1 mile east of the town of Fannin, Goliad County, Texas. It is fenced and appears to be well maintained. The entrance is a wide, double hinged, chain link fence gate with an elevated overhead sign made of white enameled tubular steel, reading "SAN JOSE". I have not determined at this time why the entrance has been designated "San Jose." The San Jose Cemetery is designated to be near the town of Ander, Goliad Co., TX according to the US Geological Survey coordinate positions of Lat:285051N Long0972106W.The US Geological Survey designates the Noble Cemetery as Lat284200N Long0971246W, the location where this transcription was performed. Additionally, there was no indication of a divisional fence or markers designating two distinct cemeteries. And, there were three older burial markers with the surname NOBLE in this cemetery. At the time of this transcription I did not have the ability to obtain supporting documentation or evidence that would substantiate a redesignation of this cemetery. I therefore conclude, this is the original site of the Noble Cemetery. God Bless America Douglas E. Anderson, Sept 27, 2001 The format of this transcription is as follows: Last Name, First Name and Middle Initial, Title (Sr, Jr,Dr, etc.), Date of Birth (In some instances only one date was inscribed on the markerand is unknown if this is the date of birth, death, and/or both.), Date of Death, S (Single Marker) or Dbl (Double Marker),Inscriptions on the marker (quotations)and transcriptionist comments (parenthesis). Also, if no name, birth or death date was inscribed on the marker, a unk (unknown) was utilized and the listed gravesite was accompanied by a description detailing the current marker in place at the time of this transcription. In several cases, due to the deterioation and age of the marker, transcriptions were not forthcoming and were noted in the comments. Contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Douglas E.
