You enter the site under an archway displaying the name "Sarco Cemetery." The grounds are enclosed with a chain link fence around the property. There are trees growing on the property that have obviously been there for a long time. The grave sites do not seem to be arranged consistently in rows. However, due to the small size of this cemetery, individual grave sites are normally not difficult to locate. Earlist grave markers date from 1880's. Although this cemetery has been established for a long time, it is still in use today. To arrive at the cemetery, begin at the intersection of US alternate 77/US 183 and US 59 in the town of Goliad. Travel south (toward Refugio) on US alternate 77/US 183 for 2.3 miles. You will come to the intersection of US 183 and Farm Road 2441. Turn right (west) on 2441. Stay on that road for approximately 9.4 miles. The cemetery will be located on the left side (east) of the road. This information was gathered on May 22, 2004. It is presented in the following form: Last name, First and middle name, Birth date, Death date, Inscriptions, Comments.
