Gonzales Inquirer May 13, 1897

Last Friday the relatives and friends of Mr. J. F. Logan received the sad news 
of his death, which occurred at Kerrville, on Thursday night, April 29th.  The 
body was brought to Gonzales and interred in the Public cemetery on Saturday 
afternoon.  He leaves a wife and stepson and many other relatives to mourn his 
death.  Mr. Logan was a man who had won the esteem of all who were well 
acquainted with him, for his kindness of heart and the uprightness of his 
dealings with his fellow men, and in his death the community has lost a good 
citizen.
