All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/tx/txfiles.htm ************************************************ Gonzales Inquirer, October 26, 1911 rom the Gonzales Inquirer, October 26, 1911: News was received in the city early this morning of the death of Mrs. Walter Ruddock, who died at the home of her father, Mr. John Smith of Marble Falls, Texas, at nine o'clock last night. Mrs. Ruddock was a resident of this county, living about 10 miles south of Gonzales in the Floyd Chapel neighborhood. Mrs. Ruddock had been in feeble health for several months and in the early spring she left Gonzales for Marble Falls to try and regain her health. The news of her death will be received with great sorrow by her friends in this county, which she numbered in scores, as she had many lovable traits and made friends wherever she visited. Mrs. Ruddock was a young woman aged about 30 years and besides a husband she leaves two little girls, Pearl aged ten years and Ruby, aged three years, an aged father and mother and three brothers, Mesrs Sam, Willis and Oscar Smith and Mrs. Ollie Dawson of Austin and Misses Alice and Cora Smith of Marble Falls, besides many other relatives. The remains will arrive in Gonzales Thursday and will be interred in the Floyd's Chapel cemetery. The Inquirer extends deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
