The Rev. Claude F. O'Neall, pastor of the Waelder Baptist church, conducted the final rites with burial taking place in the Waelder City cemetery under the direction of Baker Funeral home. Mr. Gray was a retired farmer and school teacher. He was born in Fayette County on June 1, 1874, and moved to Gonzales county with his parents at the age of seven years. He was married to the former Stella Rick, and was a member of the First Baptist church of Waelder. Survivors include three sons, Earl of Gonzales; O.E. Gray of Flatonia; and Homer Gray of Waelder; one daughter, Mrs. J.H. DuBose of Waelder; 12 granchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. One daughter, Mrs. Gertrude Robinson of Flatonia, preceded her father in death in 1938, and his wife died in 1944. Additional Comments: James Anderson Gray's wife was Stella Rich.
