The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ *********************************************************************** Joseph Gordis Haigood, son of James Oliver and Mollie Haigood was born December 1, 1883 in McClellan County, Texas, and departed this life December 26, 1959 near Strong City, Oklahoma, at the age of 76 years and 26 days. On August 27, 1903 Mr. Haigood was married to Minnie Pearl James at Clarksville, Texas and to this union were born four sons and three daughters. He was preceded in death by a son, Homer, and one daughter, Flora. He is survived by his wife of the home address, Cheyenne, Oklahoma; by three sons, Clarence of Silver, Texas, Alva of pampa, Texas; and Wallace of Guymon. Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Irma Loughlin of Oklahoma City and Mrs. Ruby Maxon of Cashion, Oklahoma, eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren; and three sisters who are Mrs. Lelia Butler, Erick, Oklahoma, Mrs. Della Brady, Bell Gardens, California, Mrs. Beulah Bruner of Sayre, Oklahoma. He also leaves a host of other relatives and friends. Mr. Haigood and family moved to Roger Mills County in Februaary 1906 and have made it their home since that time.
