The cemetery is located in southwest Guadalupe County. Go northeast of New Berlin about 3 miles on FM 775. Then 0.4 miles north of FM 775 on Beutnagel Lane, then go east of Beutnagel Lane in the field approximately 450 yards from the road. The cemetery is located on the hillside above a stock pond. It is located on private property. There are three remaining graves marked with tombstones and two more long narrow rock arrangements otherwise unmarked. I assume these are other graves. The three marked graves have iron fences around them, which presumably is why they are still intact. So I estimate that there are at least five people buried there in all, perhaps more. Here is the information from the marked graves. The first two are from a couple who were born in the vicinity of Braunschweig and emigrated to the U.S. in about 1868. The third is an infant, but no one seems to know whose child it was. Here are the complete texts from the gravestones. Marked Grave One: Heilege Schrift Hier Ruht in Frieden Heinrich C. Beutnagel Geb. 11 Juli, 1839 Gest 5 Apr, 1884 Nimmer sie Dein Vergessen Bis in die Hulle sindt hinab Un die Schmei zen die sie pressen Indet neben dir das Grab Marked Grave 2: Christine Beutnagel 26 Nov 1842 22 Jun 1931 Hochbetagt an Lebensjahren Bin in Frieden ich Gefahren, Denn Mein Glaube hat Geschaut Ihn, Auf Den mein heil Gebaut Marked Grave 3: Heinrich Beutnagel 1898-1899 The couple is buried with the woman to the left as you face the graves following the old German-Texan custom. The two adult graves have small, unmarked footstones as well. The graves face east and are shaded by two big persimmon trees and still have irises growing from them which were probably planted 50 years ago.
