Luling Signal, Caldwell Co., TX. 31-Aug-1882
Mr. J. H. Glasgow, an old citizen of Guadalupe County, died at his residence, 
six miles south of this city.

Additional Comments:
John H. Glasgow was born 11-Aug-1811 in Abbeville, South Carolina. In 1830 
Abbeville, John Dale was appointed his guardian. 

By 1850, a possible brother, James Glasgow was in Caldwell County, TX living in 
the household of William Polk "Old Gotch" Hardeman. I have not located John H 
Glasgow in 1850. By 1860 he and family are in Prairie Lea, Guadalupe Co., Tx. 
census.
John H. Glasgow married Elizabeth Ann Pettigrew.
 James L Pettigrew, Sarah J. Pettigrew, James M. Glasgow, (unknown if wife 
Martha Jackson Glasgow buried there)and John H Glasgow and wife, Elizabeth Ann 
Pettigrew Glasgow are all buried in the old Hardeman McKinney cemetery, 
Guadalupe Co., TX. 
Unknown by me if James L. Pettigrew is son of Robert Pettigrew and Betsy Ann 
Dale Pettigrew of Abbeville, SC.  Betsy was daughter of John Dale; guardian of 
John H. Glasgow.
