Bertha Mattke of Sguin died Saturday, Oct. 22, at the age of 87.
Funeral services are scheduled for 4 p.m. today at Christ Lutheran Church at
Elm Creek with the Rev. allan Cope officiating.  Interment will follow in 
Christ Lutheran Cemetery under the direction of Goetz Funeral Home.
She is survived by sons, Leroy Mattke and wife Irene of Midland and Alton 
Mattke and wife Dorothy of San Antonio; daughters, Rosalie Mattke of Houston, 
Evelyn Friedeck and husband Helmuth of Seguin, Betty Mollenhauer and husband 
Charlie of Seguin, Gladys Roecker and husband Cleburn of Seguin, Irene 
Cheatham and husband James of Seguin; 13 grandchildren, 11 great-
grandchildren; two brothers Earnest Doege and Albert Doege, both of La Vernia; 
and a sister, Linda Warncke of La Vernia.
Serving as pallbearer will be Larry Mattke, Roger Friedeck, Dwane Mattke, 
Bryan Morrison, Randy Roecker and Justin Cheatham.

Additional Comments:
Bertha Mattke was the daughter of Hermann Karl Julius Doege and Emilie Schmidt.
