Funeral Services for Henry Evans, Hall County resident for 15 years, will be conducted at 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon, Sept. 11, in the First Methodist Church of Estelline. Rev. T. E. Gibson of Clarendon and Rev. C. R. Kelley of Estelline will be in charge of the services. Interment will be in the Estelline Cemetery, under direction of Spicer Funeral Home. Mr. Evans, a retired farmer, died in a local hospital at 11:25 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8. He was born Jan. 14, 1877, in Llano County. Mr. Evans and Miss Lona Burch were united in marriage on Jan. 17, 1905 at Sanoria. They moved to Hall County in 1939 and lived around Estelline since that time. Survivors are: his wife, Mrs. Lona Evans, Estelline; seven daughters, Mrs. Amanda Burch of Markley, Mrs. Leona Pollard of Baxter Springs, Kansas, Mrs. Voa Parsons of Marietta, Okla., Mrs. Lana Vean Whitten of Shallowater, Mrs. Georgia Mae Whitten of Newlin, Mrs. Nora Faye Chandler of Plainview and Mrs. Betty Lou Atchley of Vernon;, seven sons, James A. Evans of Reno, Nev., Henry W. Evans of Los Angeles, Calif., I. E. Evans of China Lake, Calif., Edmund Evans of Livingston, Calif., A. D. Evans of Southerland, Ore., Kenneth E. Evans of Ridgecrest, California, and Matthew R. Evans of Estelline. Mr. Evans is also survived by 40 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 3 great- great-grandchildren, two brothers, James E. Evans of Ozona and W. T. Evans of Sheffield, and a sister, Mrs. Ina Stone of Del Rio.
