H. & S. I. Vinson born Sep. 10, 1889 died Jan. 31, 1891 gone but not forgotten The grave is surrounded by a cement curb that encloses a space for between 5 and 10 graves. Millie's grave is in the center and there are two short stones without markings on the right of it and one short stone with no markings on the left. These could be to "reserve" these spaces for later, but they also could mark other burials. The curbed space is just to the right of a small "mausoleum" that has a metal sign designating it as the first tomb in the cemetery. Just above Millie's grave are the graves of the Carlton family, for whom, I assume, the town was named. Additional Comments: John HOOD Vinson was the inaugural pastor of Carlton Baptist Church and moved to Carlton about 1888. The church was inaugurated in 1891.
