JACKSON, STEPHEN - Aged 65 years, died of Typhus Fever at his residence near
Sour Lake, Hardin County, Texas, on the 2nd day of September, 1861. Mr.
Jackson was one of the first discovers of Sour Lake, and settled it in the
year 1835. (Galveston Weekly News, Sept. 24, 1861)
