If so, please contact me. LOCATION OF CEMETERY: The Electrical Substation is located in Houston, Texas in the area east of the University of Houston and south of The Gulf Freeway (I-45) at the Telephone Rd. Exit. The cemetery is north of Brases Bayou on the south end of the Substaion. I dont know if it has a name but I tried to keep it recorded on our Maps. (see map: http://www.usgwarchives.net/tx/harris/cemeteries/univ-sub.jpg During my employ with H.L.& P. Co., I became aware of a Cemetery on the University Substation Property. When I started with the "Light Co." it's Name was H.L.& P. Co., then Houston Industries; Reliant Energy and Center Point Energy. This Electrical Substation has been in existence for a long time, at least the early 40's. I found this Cemetery in 1970's while looking over the property for the Substation's future expansion. I don't remember any dates on the tombstones, possibly in the 1880's. Most of the head stones have been removed and thrown into the nearby woods. There are signs of aprox. 4 small homes straight in line, foundations, and brick side walks. The house foundations are small 15X15; as those of farm workers, slave quarters or low income housing? The woods are in the lower left of the property. I have been retired for the last 15 years and do not have access to the property. I have been concerned about the dignity of these forgotten people.
