I am the author of the following and you may place it on your website with my permission: Obituary - Laura Elizabeth "Beth" Hassell Arizmendi Laura Elizabeth Arizmendi, 66, of Baytown, TX was born January 23, 1943 in Waco to James Vernon and Oleta Hassell and passed away Monday, July 27, 2009 in a Houston hospice. She met Abel Arizmendi, the love of her life, and they were married and spent 33 wonderful years together raising their families. Laura was a member of the Episcopal Church and the Dayton Cowboy Church. She was also a member of the Cedar Bayou Eastern Star. She loved her baking and making special things for her Family and Friends. She also loved bowling and spending time with her Family and Friends. She especially loved being around her Grandchildren. She also served as Vice-President of the Cedar Bayou Estates Homeowners Association, Inc. and was retired from American Mat & Timber in Houston. She was preceded in death by her Parents, James Vernon and Oleta Hassell, Sister, Joanne L Jenkins and Brother, Dickey Wood. She is survived by her Husband, Abel Arizmendi of Baytown; Children, Samuel Dee Wilson of Killeen, John Robert Wilson and Wife Tracy of Conroe, Angela Marie Woods and Husband Joey of Cleveland, Kenneth Lynn Wilson of Conroe, Anthony Arizmendi of Baytown and Anginetta Leonard and Husband Bill of Corpus Christi, Sister, Lenora Shope and Husband Rick of Blanco; Brothers, James Martin and Wife Nancy of Beaumont, Emory Wood and Wife Sue of Baytown, Don Hassell and Wife Mattie of Granbury and Danny Charles Martin and Wife Debbie of Beaumont, James Hassell and wife Jan of San Antonio and 18 Grandchildren and 10 Great grandchildren. Her Family will receive Friends Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Thursday, July 30, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. David Hilton of the Dayton Cowboy Church officiating. Following the service, a reception will be held at the Chambers County Annex Building, 7711 Hwy. 146, Baytown, TX 77520. At her request, her body will be cremated afterwards. In lieu of usual remembrances memorial donations may be made to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, P. O. Box 4486, Houston, TX 77210-4486.
