Canterbury, 50, of 1807 Crockett died at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday (December 19, 1945) in a local hospital. He had been a resident of Houston for 42 years and was employed by the T. and N.O. Railroad 30 years. Mr. Canterbury was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen, Lodge No. 145; Park Place Lodge No. 1172, A.F. and A.M. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Hettie Bell Canterbury; a son, Norman Dale Canterbury; a daughter, Miss Charline Canterbury; mother, Mrs. Louise Canterbury; sister, Mrs. A. R. Oatis and brother, Charles Canterbury, all of Houston. Funeral services at 4 p.m. Friday (December 21, 1945) in the Fogle-West Chapel, with Rev. Skardon D'Aubert officiating. Burial in Forest Park Cemetery, with Park Place Lodge No. 1172, A.F. and A.M. in charge. Pallbearers; P.G. Taylor, W.A. Turner, M.V. Sharman, Leland Everett, C.A. McClure and Earl Montgomery.
