All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/tx/txfiles.htm ************************************************ Louis Doskocil February 13, 1920 - April 14, 2005 Louis Doskocil, 85, of Crosby, TX (Harris County) went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 14, 2005 in Baytown, TX. Funeral services were held at 10am Monday, April 18, 2005 at Sterling White Chapel Funeral Home in Highlands, TX. Pastor David R. Brumbelow of Northside Baptist Church, Highlands brought the memorial message. Interment followed at White Cemetery. Louis was born February 13, 1920 in Buckholt, TX to Alois and Rosie Jerica Doskocil. He was one of eight children. He grew up speaking Czech and did not learn English until he began grade school. Louis was preceded in death by his wife Doris Doskocil and their daughter Cindy Machala. Louis and his family moved to Crosby in 1926. He worked for Armco Steel. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army in the 95th Infantry. He spent well over 100 days on the front lines of battle as a radio operator. Louis Doskocil was a member of the American Legion, SPJST, and an active member in the Crosby Fair and Rodeo Association. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and the outdoors. He loved his family. Doskocil was a member Northside Baptist Church, 317 Barbers Hill Rd., Highlands, Texas 77562. When Louis was age 82 he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior and was baptized by Rev. Brumbelow. Survivors include daughters Sylvia Glover and her husband Eddie of Crosby, TX and Phalla Larison and her husband Derrell of Plantersville, TX; son Royden Doskocil of Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Grandchildren Jason Machala, Jamie Machala, Julie Shaw, Eddie Glover, Jr., and Becky Glover.
