Johnson, aged about 45, died at his home in Omaha last Wednesday night, February 10, at about 10:30 o'clock, following a very short illness from pneumonia, brought about by an attack of intestinal influenza. At the time of his death Judge Johnson was serving his first term as Representative in the State Legislature from Morris and Titus counties, and had made quite a reputation as a law maker and as a man who always looked after the interest of the people whom he represented. He was also interested in highway work and at the time of his death was serving as chairman of an organization known as the Northeast Texas Highway Association, No. 1. He had also served Morris County as County Judge and Exofficio Superintendent for two terms, during which time the family resided in Daingerfield. He was a member of the Baptist church and was a great lover of music, especially singing convention work, in which he always took an active part. The burial took place Thursday afternoon at Concord cemetery, 3 miles southwest of Omaha, with the funeral being in charge of Rev. J. D. McClung, Baptist minister of Mt. Pleasant. Deceased is survived by his wife and two sons, Lyndle and Buddie. Also his mother, Mrs. C. A. Smith, one brother, Hayes Johnson and three sisters, Mrs. Joe Justiss, Mrs. Allen Johnson and Mrs. Robert Cason, all of whom reside in Morris county. ---
