All rights reserved http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ***************************************************** MENTZ.--Mrs. Amelia Mentz, aged 62, died at her home, 1704 San Jacinto Street, at 4:40 Sunday (March 2, 1919) afternoon. Mrs. Mentz was born under the British flag, while on a ship en route to Liverpool, England. She was the widow of the late Judge A.B. Mentz, and a well known temperance worker. She was an active member of the W.C.T.U. and gave much of her time to church work. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. M.H. Warren of Tampico, Mexico; Mrs. T.G. Billingsley of McDade, Texas; Miss Eliza Mentz of Houston, and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 5 o'clock this afternoon (Monday, March 3, 1919) at the home, Rev. Peter Gray Sears officiating. Interment will be in Glenwood Cemetery. From Houston Chronicle March 3, 1919
