OBIT - HOUSTON POST JULY 1952

Robert Edgar Newton, 76, 1126 Jocelyn St., died 10 pm Monday in his
home. Native Houstonian. Survivors: Widow, Mrs. Maggie Newton,
Houston; daughters, Mrs. Ruth Culver, Genoa; Mrs. Vera Matthews, Waco;
Mrs. Doris Milam, Houston; Mrs. Gladys McDaniels, Tulsa, Ok.; sons:
Emmett and Lemuel Newton, both of Houston; sister, Mrs. Lillie
Haywood, Houston; 19 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren. Services 4
pm Wednesday, Callaway Funeral Home, the Rev. J.T. DeLoach. Burial
Forest Park Cemetery. Pallbearers: Lemeul, Emmett, Joseph, Britton,
and J.H. Newton, Ray Robinson. Callaway Funeral Home.
