Mattie Matthews Long, born in Chappell Hill, Texas, October 30, 1904. Died 
Thursday, December 22, 1994, in a local Hospital. She was preceded in death by 
her parents, James Browning and Dora F. Matthews. Survived by daughters: Mattie 
Lynn Park and husband Eldee of Sugar Land and Shirley Ann Weidler of Evergreen 
County, sons Donald M. Frank of Houston and Hugh E. Frank of Lufkin; sister, 
Dorothy Hannum of Spring; brothers, William C. Matthews of Memphis, TN and 
James B. Matthews of Houston and many numerous grandchildren and great 
grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, December 26, 
1994, at the Chapel of Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Bisby 
officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery. She was a 
great role model and inspiration to all.
