Born in Germany, he came to Weimar with his parents when he was a baby and spent most of his life on a farm near here. A carpenter and farmer, he had lived in semi-retirement in Houston the past 24 years. He died Sunday, April 19. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Anna Ripper of Houston; three daughters, Misses Rose and Ann Ripper and Mrs. Theresa Schuwerk, all of Houston; a son, John Jr. of Houston; four brothers, Fred of Weimar, Anton and Edward of Schulenburg and Joe of Columbus; and two sisters, Mrs. Joe Kubica of Weimar and Mrs. A. Walla of Houston. Pallbearers were his nephews: Henry, Edwin, Edgar and Alfred Ripper, Edgar Walla, all of Houston; and Adolf Kubica of Weimar. Rev. Geo. Rheim and Rev. Jim Dempsey officiated in the services.
