Samuel Grady Rowell, 69, 1203 Tulane, passed away Sunday. Was a deacon of West 
14th Avenue Baptist Church. Member Reagan Lodge 1037 AF&AM. Survivors: Wife, 
Mrs. Beatrice Rowell; daughters, Mrs. Nelma Martin, Mrs. Doris Hibbard, 
sisters, Mrs. Era Fay Dupree, Mrs. Emma Hamilton, Mrs. May Pierce, Mrs. Martha 
Berry, Mrs. Alberta Adams, all of Houston, Mrs. Gladys Campbell, Tomball, Mrs. 
Vera Hutton, Bentonville, Ark.; brothers, Rev. Abe Rowell, Houston, Clivia 
Rowell, Wimberly; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; numerous other 
relatives. Services 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Heights Chapel, Rev. R. L. Hollems 
officiating. Burial Woodlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers: G.M. Nagai and deacons of 
West 14th Avenue Baptist Church, Heights Funeral Home, UN2-8844.

Samuel was the son of Jacob Everett "JE" ROWELL and Martha J. "Mattie" STATON.
