Family comments: Bill Sanders was a dredge operator with AG&P Dredging Co. for many years, after which he was co-owner of Chrisley Sand and S & R Sand and owner of Sanders Sand. He worked in Aruba, Trinidad, Antigua, Johnston Island and France. He thoroughly enjoyed his work. He was a very caring and generous man and loved watching westerns on television. One of his greatest pleasures was spending time with his grandchildren. His body was cremated in accordance with his wishes. The Sanders had not been affiliated with Northside Baptist Church but Neva said that when Bill was about 14 he trusted Jesus as his Savior and was baptized in a Baptist church. She said that he had read the entire Bible. At the memorial service Carly Goins sang the hymns: How Great Thou Art, Rock of Ages, and Amazing Grace. A meal for the family at the church followed the memorial service. John 3:16 and the Lord’s Prayer were listed in the Funeral Bulletin. Reverend Brumbelow preached about Heaven and used the Scripture, John 14:1-6. “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know.” Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” -John 14:1-6; The Bible. -submitted by David R. Brumbelow, P.O. Box 300, Lake Jackson, TX 77566.
