Walla Held Nov. 16 Funeral services for Mrs. Theresa Walla, 93, a resident of Sunrise Nursing Home in Clute, were held Monday, Nov. 16, from St. Jerome Catholic Church there, and graveside services were held in Houston. Mrs. Walla died Thursday night, Nov. 12, after several months’ illness. Born Jan. 6, 1894, in the Holman area, she was a daughter of Joseph and Aloysia (Berger) Ripper. Seventy-five years ago she was married to Anton Walla, and they made their home at Homan before moving to Houston. She had been a resident of the nursing home for several years. Her husband preceded her in death, along with three sons, Edgar, Charlie, and Bennie, and two infant daughters,; six brothers, John, Joe, Fred, Edward, Anton,, and Adolf Ripper; and three sisters, Millie Blaschke, Louisa Neiser and Annie Kubica. Surviving her are six daughters, Alice Jasek of Lake Jackson, Rose Maus of Decatur, Ill., Mildred Maus of Golden Valley, Minn., Dorothy Pargac of Flatonia, Lorene Gering of Louisville, Ky., and Doris Neyman of Denver, Colo; one son, Max Walla of Houston; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Those from here attending her funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Joe F. Wick, Mrs. Pauline Hauser and Mrs. Ella Falke.
