WEARING--Sam R. Wearing, 42, died at his residence, 14 East Twenty-fourth, at
4:15 p.m. Thursday (August 29, 1940).

Mr. Wearing was a lifelong resident of Houston.

Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Iva Wearing of Houston; two sisters, Mrs. Katie
Erickson and Mrs. Charles S. Jones, both of Houston; three brothers, Rudolph
Wearing of Bellville, Herman Wearing of La Porte and Arthur Wearing of Fort
Worth.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday (August 30, 1940) in the chapel of the
Memorial funeral home, Rev. Fred Johnston officiating. Burial will be in La
Porte cemetery at La Porte.

Pallbearers will be F. H. Beneke, Dew Dennis, Dan Dennis, William Lowrey,
Ollie Turner and Erick Erickson.
