Harrison CO. TX - Jesse Grimes Letters ----¤¤¤---- Letter # 38 Nacogoches (Tx.) 14th Nov. 1850. My Dear Sir I had intended to be at Austin during the extra session of the Legislature but having so short a time to remain at home and it being necessary for the interests of Texas that I should be at Washington in the early part of the session I shall be deprived of the pleasure of seeing my friends at Austin and expressing my grateful feeling to them for the generous support they gave me in one of the most trying scenes through which the Government of the U S has passed since its formation. I assure you Sir I shall always feel a lively sense of gratitude which I will try to show by a devotion to the interest of our State. Truly your friend Thos. J. Rusk Hon.
