March 5th 1854 Dear Sister I now seat My self to write you a few lines to let you know how I am My family are all well at present and doing as well as you could expect in such old worn out county as this. I do not think I will stay hear another year I want to go to Texas next winter if I can but I caint let you know postively until I see William and if he will go I will be certain to move west wint Mr. Grimes speaks of visitand you in April and if he does I will be certain to let know all about it. My three oldest Daughters says they would go to Texas if any of there friends would come after them or if any of there friends would go frome heare also Dear Sister recollect I am now 48 years old as to My own part Matters not so much but for the sake of My children I am annious to move they are so many people are moving in hear I think I can get a good price for My place and I want to know what I can get land at Sheinallso(sic) and I want you to write and let me know how all of My cornections is and write soon I have wrote to Serena I have not reciev any answer yet give My love to all of the family and cornection also I must come to a close I remain your Sister MARIA B.
