Harrison Co. TX - William Grimes Papers ¤¤¤¤¤¤ Bigbee, Ala Feb 7, 1895 Mr, W.S. Grimes, Arleston, Texas. My Dear Uncle: Your kind letter of Jan. 25rd to hand some time ago. And I should have responded sooner, but have been sick, and have not felt like writing. Tell Cousin Raymond that I appreciated the card very much, and hope he will like the one I send him. Oh! Yes, why have you never sent me his photo like you promised, There are only four of us at home. Brother Jemmie; age 26 years, Leslie. Gertrude, (Pink for short) age 15 & Hattle Caral (the baby) 15 years. Bro. Jemmie speaks of going bsck to Tex. as he does not seem to be satisfied with old Ala. Guess you have a lonely time keeping batchy do you not? How I wish I could come out andspend a while with you. I know I would enjoy it immensely. You must excuse such bad writing, as it is so cold, I am writing on my lap by the fire, You asked where Rescueville was. It is in Choctow Co., about 12 miles from this place. Mama has been home about 3 weeks. My sister's children were still improving the last time I heard from them. It keeps getting colder and looks like it will be snowing before ten oclock. I heard a few days ago, the scarlet fever was in Mobile. Hope it won't get this far, Well I will close as it is nearly time for the mall. Write soon and a long letter. By-bye with much love. Lovingly your N. Carrie.
