Harrison Co. TX - William Grimes Papers ¤¤¤¤¤¤ Mobile, Alabama December 5th, 1895 W. S. Grimes Dear Uncle, Your much appreciated letter came to hand this P.M. and will gladly reply at once as there isn't anything on this earth that would afford me more pleasure than to have you or any of your dear family to come to see me & spend a while with us. Oh! Uncle William, you can't Imagine the joyful feeling that came over me when I opened and found that it was from you. I have often wondered what had become of you all and at last you have come to light. May God bless you & be with you In your declining years. Uncle Benton is living yet but is getting feeble. Lost his wife about 2 years ago. His children are all married but the crippled one & youngest son. Aunt Math is living yet & is enjoying good health. Uncle Leslie is living. On the last account, he is still raving around as usual. Aunt Laura & the 3 younger children, Minnie Ida & Dannie are all living yet. I suppose you heard of Aunt Anna's death. She died some 2-1/2 yr 3 years ago & left a large family. You must be sure to let your son come and stay with us as long as he can as it will be such a pleasure to us all. Be sure to let him get here before Christmas so that he can spend the Holidays with us. The number of my residence is 255 South Scott St. or East Scott 2nd South of Canal. My place of business is at M & 0 Round House corner Royal & Beauragard Sts. or is it suits, you can wire me from New Orleans & I will meet him at the train. If you should wire me, send or rather address message to M & 0 Round House and I will get it in time to meet you. But should I not get the message, if you arrive later than 4:50 P.M., you will find me at residence. But during the day, up to that time, I am at Round House. I must close hoping that you will answer this some future day & give me full account of all your family etc. I remain your true & devoted Nephew, R. B.
