Harrison Co. Tx - William Grimes Papers ¤¤¤¤¤¤ At. H. Montgomery, Tex. Dec. 29, 1895 Dear Uncle:- I think you treated me mighty nice, I sent to the train three times to see if you all came. I had the nicest kind of a dinner for you and then you did not come. Papa and Uncle Dick have gone to Taylor. They waited & waited for you so you could go. They made this up when you first said that you were coming so you would get to see Uncle Tony. And as you did not come, they went anyway. Papa said that something happened or you would have come. I wish you all would come to see us anyway. I was very much dissapointed because you all did not come. We had a concert and a Xmas tree Xmas and a good many parties. Tell Cousin Raymond that he did not come to see his girl after me picking her out for him. She was going to give him a dance when he came. We have given one and had a very nice time. There will he several more this week. Stella came out and stayed two weeks with us, the time you said you were coming. We have not had very much cold weather yet. Papa and Uncle Dick have been to Houston. We went to a dining five miles yesterday, Irion took his girl with him, that is the oldest boy. Write soon and tell me why you all did not come. Excuse haste and all mistakes. Write soon to your loving Niece, Mary E. Womack. Note;- This is a copy of a letter mailed at Montgomery, Texas, on December 51, 1895» by Mary E.
