Clark and submitted by Peggy Adler August 2000 Fairview Cemetery is located in Haskell County, Texas north of Sagerton and highway 283 about half way between Stamford and Aspermont, Texas. The cemetery was established in 1890 on land donated by the G W Tanner family and consists of approximately two acres. Oldtimers say that when the cemetery was established there was probably a church and school there as well. The cemetery is well-kept and is maintained by donations sent in by families of deceased members buried there and memorials given and is under the supervision of Joyce LeFevre (Mrs. Delbert) and her assistants. At the center front of the cemetery there is a memorial placed by Mrs. Joe Frances (Whit) Clark which reads: Fairview Cemetery 1890 - 1982 To honor all those who rest here Erected in remembrance of Whit Clark In 1970 it was noted that somewhere in Row "J" there was a graved marked as Alma Shelly or Shelby as well as a grave marked Ben Cobb B & D Dec 27 1945. In 2000 these graves are no longer marked. The West side of the cemetery is considered the front. The graves are catalogued for this document by rows with Row "A" Lot "1" being located at the northwest corner of the cemetery. Directions to Fairview Cemetery are as follows: Turn North on Monroe Ave in Sagerton. Go 6 of a mile then go East on CR 463 for 2 of a mile, then North for 1 7 miles. Turn East on CR 454 for 5 mile then North on CR457 for 1 mile. *** NOTE: THIS FILE IS WIDE, DRAG BOTTOM SCROLL BAR TO READ ENTIRE INSCRIPTION *** ==================================================================================================== LAST NAME FIRST NAME DOB DOD LOT STONE INSCRIPTION ==================================================================================================== ALLEN W J 1854 1935 H14 Single Selma Ala (handmade marker of cement with lettering of wire) ALLISON Martha Elsie Aug 27 1896 Dec 19 1927 E29 Single Mother BALZER Anna 1866 1944 F13 Double At rest BALZER K August 1865 1934 F14 Double His toils are past his work is done BALZER Richard Aug 14 1891 Jan 16 1964 G18 Single BANOWSKY Sena H Nov 14 1857 May 6 1914 E1 Single Earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal BAUMBACH Gloria Fay July 2 1938 I5 Single infant BAUMBACH Minnie Feb 4 1882 Feb 5 1936 I8 Single Mother BAUMBACH Otto Mar 25 1876 Jul 14 1937 I6 Single Father BAUMBACH Sam Sep 8 1903 Feb 23 1930 I7 Single Brother BELL Fannie Louisa Dec 2 1857 Nov 10 1925 J7 Single Concrete marker BELL A H Oct 29 1926 J8 Single PVT 28 Tx Cav (large cedar tree at this gravesite) BELL A H "Dock" Dec 4 1840 Oct 28 1926 J8 Single Concrete marker (This is most likely the same as the above AH Bell Pvt but notice difference in dates) BERRY Peggy Jo Dec 2 1948 D26 Single BIVINS Coleman Lee Feb 1 1966 Jun 5 1987 A39 Single Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial (killed in a boating accident at Lake Stamford) because when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him James 1:12 BRIDGES George T Dec 3 1891 Jun 11 1954 E23 Single BRIDGES John O Dec 27 1863 Dec 16 1926 E22 Single Father BRIDGES Louisa A Cox Mar 12 1870 Feb 24 1900 E21 Single Wife of JO Bridges born in Coryell Co Texas Another link is broken in our household band but a chain is forming in a better land BRISCOE James M Aug 25 1848 Aug 19 1901 C28 Single But is he dead?
