All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ******************************************************************************** Anna Mae (Lees) Davis Anna Mae (Lees) Davis, 87, a life long resident of Haskell passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2006, at Hendrick Medical Center. Services were on Monday, May 29, 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church in Haskell, with Rev. Kevin Hall of Lubbock, and Rev. Greg Gasaway, Pastor at FBC, Haskell, officiating. Burial followed at Willow Cemetery, in Haskell, under the direction of Holden McCauley Funeral Home. Anna Mae was born April 20, 1919 in Haskell County to W. M. and Olivia ÒSullivanÓ Lees. She graduated from Haskell High School in 1939. She later attended the ÒfirstÓ Nursing School, taught at the Haskell Hospital, and received her LVN License. She worked at the Haskell Hospital for 10 years, did private duty nursing, and then worked 15 years at Rice Springs Care Home, before retiring. Anna Mae married Raymond Davis, in Haskell on May 7,1939. They were life-long members of First Baptist Church in Haskell. Anna Mae taught the Jr Ôs & Intermediates in Sunday School, and also taught in Training Union, serving as the Training Union Director for two years. She helped teach Sunday School at the Mission Church in 1962-64. In recent years, she gave the Opening Devotional each Sunday morning, for the Sr. Adult Dept. She was active in the Haskell Chapter of the Eastern Star, # 892, serving as the Past Matron of The Haskell Chapter in 1957-58. Anna Mae is survived by two sons & daughters-in-law: Rodney & Judy Davis of Las Cruces, New Mexico, and Gary & Sondra Davis of Stamford, TX. She is survived by three grandchildren, Pam Porter & husband, Dennis, of Henderson, NV.; Jeff Davis of Azle, Tx. and Patrick Davis & wife, Mary Kay, of Belleville, Illinois; eight great grandchildren; Annalise & Melissa Porter of Henderson, NV.; Sean, Ryan & Drew Davis of Belleville, Illinois, and Heather, Ross & Ryan Morren of Azle, Tx. Also, a sister-in-law, Ruby (Davis) Dobbs and husband, Earl of De Soto, Tx. and several nieces & nephews. Anna Mae was proceeded in death by her husband, Raymond Davis, one infant son, her parents, four brothers and 5 sisters. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, or First Baptist Church in Haskell, or your favorite charity.
