Bill Trice Officiating. Burial followed in the O'Brien Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home in Knox City. Mrs. Johnston passed away early monday morning January 20, 1997 at Methodist Hospital in Lubbock. Mrs. Johnston was born in Anson, TX on June 17, 1901 to the late W. Anderson Austin and Nellie Partin Austin. She and Wille Gordon "Bill" Johnston were married on November 19, 1920, in O'Brien. He preceeded her in death Dec. 13, 1970. She was also preceded in death by her Brothers, C.P Austin, Alvie Austin and Cecil Austin. And a sister, Viola Walker. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Iris and E.L. "Sonnie" Hughes of Lubbock; sons and daughters-in-law Billy Gene & Ida Dean Johnston of Graham; and Dwayne and Jean Johnston of Lubbock. Eight brothers, B.T. Austin of West Covina California; George, W.A. Jr. Russell and Donal Austin all of Lubbock; Donis of Leander; Guy of Farwell; and Partin of Springtown MO. Six grandchildren 10 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
