Graveside services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 25, 2006 at Rule Cemetery with Rev. John Erwin officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Kinney-Underwood Funeral Home. LaVerne was born on April 11, 1919 in Rule, Texas, the daughter of the late Elihu and Carrie Morgan Weaver. She was valedictorian of the 1937 Class of Rule High School. She was a graduate of the University of Texas receiving a degree in accounting and worked as an accountant in the Gin Department of Paymaster for 37 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Brice and Eloise Weaver. Surviving Ms. Weaver is one sister, Alminice Harrison of Stamford; two nephews, Ronnie Harrison and wife Linda of Odessa and Terry Weaver and wife Anita of Rule; one niece Renda Carter and husband Russell of Dallas; three great nephews; one great niece; four great-great nieces and two great-great nephews.
